Applicant Journey

For your application you will be asked to provide core information about yourself.

In order to perform background checks, VettingGateway must be informed of your whereabouts and activities during the referencing period (which is typically the past 5 years), however the timespan may vary depending on the organisation that is referencing you.

You'll be taken through a number of sections, answering one question at a time. Once you've answered all the questions for a given section you'll be shown a summary page, where you can review the information and make corrections.

Referees
Requirements and Exclusions

Gap referees would normally be your close friends. However, people you are in regular contact with may be eligible to be a referee. However, people that fall into any of the following categories cannot act as a referee:

  • Members of your family
  • Relations by blood or marriage
  • People living at the same address as you
  • People under the age of 16

  • Name

  • Email

  • Phone Number

  • Postal Address

  • In what capacity do you know this person?

  • How many years have you known this person?

Additional Documentation
Proof of Address Document

Examples of acceptable documents include; bank statements, council tax statement, utility bills, driving licence or letters from a government agency. Documents must:

  • Include your full address
  • Display the same name specified on your identity document
  • Be dated within 3 months of now, or, 12 months for council tax letters
  • Have been received through the post and not printed from online portals
Proof of Identity

Examples of acceptable documents include:

Vetting Consent

Before we can start work on your profile, we need you to consent to our background checks. Please read the below statement, and sign using your mouse at the bottom of this page.
